Adult Treatment

Adult orthodontic treatment.

More and more adults are seeking orthodontic treatment today, and our practice has extensive experience in working with adult patients.

We enjoy treating both simple and complex cases to the highest standards. Drs. Fulmer and Eakes have the skill and wisdom to treat interdisciplinary cases in which they work with other dentists and dental specialists to coordinate the treatment of patients who may require complex restorative, periodontal, and surgical needs.

How is adult treatment different?

Orthodontic treatment can improve the health of teeth and gums and can help avoid irregular wear of the tooth enamel due to bite problems. In addition to desiring an improvement in their smile esthetics, many adults seek orthodontic treatment to establish ideal tooth positions in preparation for implants or other restorative work to be done by their general dentist.

We offer options uniquely designed for adults, including ceramic braces that blend in with natural tooth color, "mini" metal braces that are more discrete and comfortable than traditional braces, self-ligating braces that reduce friction with the wire, and clear aligners that can be worn to improve mild cases of misaligned teeth.

How can orthodontics benefit me?

Orthodontic treatment can not only improve the esthetics of a smile but also address malocclusions (bad bites) and facial esthetics, which are both affected by tooth or jaw misalignment. Malocclusions and tooth alignment can affect how you smile, chew, and keep your teeth clean. During our initial exam and diagnostic workup, we evaluate your individual esthetic, bite, and functional needs to inform you how orthodontics can benefit you.

It’s never too late to consider orthodontic treatment. We would be honored to help you achieve a beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted!
